2011 Youth Golf Clinic in Oldham County KY

 Fore! Get your kids and their clubs together for the 2011 Youth Golf Clinic to be held on Monday nights starting May 9. This is a 5-week program taught by Terry Bradshaw, USGTF. Participants must provide their own golf clubs, although the Oldham County Parks & Recreation Dept. does have a few sets available if your child does not own any.

There are 2 sessions: May 9 - June 13, and June 27 - August 1 (all Monday nights). For ages 6-9, the time is 5:30 - 6:25 pm, and ages 10-12, the time is 6:30 - 7:25 pm. Cost for the sessions are $80.00. Golf Clinic will be held at the Golden Tee Driving Range, 6033 W. Hwy. 146, Crestwood KY.

If you'd like your child to participate, fill out this  2011 Youth Golf Clinic Registration Form and follow instructions as to where to return with payment. This form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Discover Downtown LaGrange Events this Saturday 3-26-11

We have more Oldham County KY fun things to do! If you don't want to stay home this weekend, come to LaGrange KY for March Serenity! March Serenity is all about speakers, demonstrations, and music. It is hosted by Discover Downtown LaGrange.

On Saturday, March 26, 2011 there will be two March Serenity events happening. The first event is Writer's Seminar to be held at the Oldham County Public Library, 308 Yager Avenue in LaGrange KY. Starting at 1:00 is a Publication Workshop featuring Kim Michele Richardson, author of The Unbreakable Child.

Then at 3:00, also at the Oldham County Public Library, is the workshop Life is Science Fiction! where you get to talk with noted sci-fi author, James Daniel Ross, about publishing your own work!

The other event is Paint the Town at the LaGrange Community Center, 307 West Jefferson Street (not the John W. Black Community Center), from 10:00-4:00 (same day). Artistic and literary treasures galore! Hickory Vaught plays "alternative bluegrass" at the community center 1:00-3:00.

Something Fun For The Family - Oldham County Showcase

Are you looking for something fun to do this weekend in Oldham County, KY? Well, look no further! The Oldham County Showcase is a family-friendly event located at the Oldham County YMCA Soccer Complex at 20 Quality Place, Buckner, KY.


This event will be held Saturday, March 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It is open to the public with Free Admission!

If you love to watch singing competitions, the Oldham Icon contest will be held starting at 1:00 p.m. Participants will be competing for the title and cash prizes. The winner also gets an invitation to be the Oldham Chamber & Economic Development's representative in the Oldham County Day parade in July. Winner will be announced at 3:00!

Walk around the complex and see all the booths with displays from over 90 local businesses, great for networking! Other events to be held at the Oldham County Showcase are a New Car Show, Showcase Bingo & Prizes, Entertainment, Home Improvement Workshops, and a Kids' Craft Table.

Come on out to the Showcase and have a great time with the family!
